Introductions of some people :)

Well, it seems funny how people introduce themselves and how they turn out to be. Dont push your mind further to cause any damage. Instead, just read the following

I hope we guys do fare well in the future, even though the party thrown by the juniors wasnt really as exciting as it could have been. I am sure the dance party made up for the lack of fun quotient that was sorely missed in the junior batch's attempt at some "call whatever you want to" kind of humour. It was heartening to see that we had almost everybody on the dance floor right from ravishing beauties (they actually ravaged us :P) to smart men (who were also trying to ravage).

For those who missed this piece of information, Mr Sandeep Sahota and Miss Bushra Firdous were declared the best dressed people on the day. Though personally, I thought that the extra Ariel powder used by Mr. Sahota ws a cause for his jacket to look so bright and WHITE. I am told by my trusted sources, that some ladies were miffed by the fact that Bushra won yet another prize. I am told that even Saif vented out his frustration of not winning the title at the batch by scheduling an early morning class for the Project Management students. Well done Bushra and Sandeep for their wins. Tough Luck for the others.

Its been some time that this mail chain of "Revisiting Old Days" has reached your inbox. So here I am ready with another piece of extravagant information.

Background: We have just been confirmed about our admission to the hallowed institute of Vinod Gupta School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Everybody is happy and merry and finally come round to introduce themselves on the Internet. We have our own style of telling people who I am and what I do, so here or some examples where in we get to fully know what to expect from them... Read On and Enjoy

Its funny, that now since we know these guys pretty well it seems as if they are reading their won email. When i was going thought the introductions mail, I thought every character was jumping out of the mail and speaking the words written in the mail... Amazing experience..

Well no more gyaan on lips now :). Time to take on another body part :)

Well a quote on lips:
Hugh Sidey said : A sense of humor... is needed armor. Joy in one's heart and some laughter on one's lips is a sign that the person down deep has a pretty good grasp of life.

Here comes the second one. This one too has the Acadcomm under fire and written by Jam Cinh Lam. Check out the subtle wit and humour and you would be in splits.

Seeing yesterday's response on the group regarding the old email idea, has prompted many people to undertake this job of revisiting the old days via emails. I personally condemn (do I...I am not sure...I laughed my wits out though :P ), such dastardly acts and shall take action against those concerned. (Hihahihahiha ... !!! )

Well, just now, Sharad has very aptly defined the contours of his skull and his grasping power of subjects, which has forced me to dish this email out from the old cans of mails of VGSoM.

Unlike me, this guy rarely speaks and when he does, he evokes a certain degree of amazement from those who hear him. His quirky ways of responding to attendance seem to be the folklore of VGSoM and somehow, the only guy who has never had someone else marking him present via a proxy. He is a great guy and thoroughly deserves accolades for the way he handles himself...

So without wasting much time...lets start...

Background: AcadComm as usual has sent in a mail quite early in the morning about a class change or a new scheduled class. Mr Lam who, we know was quite a favorite of Prof P.S. Das and his economics lectures was visibly miffed because he missed that class...Lets see how his side of the story and the agony he faced was translated into a mail...!!!

Dear AcadComm,

I came to know that while I was sleeping peacefully in my room, this morning, economics class was going on in full swing. This was due to the fact that the mail informing the change in schedule of economics class was sent early this morning, while the birds were still sleeping (at least I think so).

I don't think that the AcadComm and the professor concerned came to terms, to conduct the class at the said time, only early this morning, so that the mail could be sent at the earliest possible (which happens to be the early morn).

So, my abject request is that mails informing the sudden appearance of class in the morning session, should be sent the previous night (by which time I suppose the schedule must be done) before 12 O'Clock, so that unnecessary, unenlightened absentation from class could be avoided. This is of high importance to people like me who comes to class for the sole purpose of getting a 'p' marked in the register.

I hope the AcadComm will be able to cater to the non-nocturnal students as well in future.

JC Lam

So guys, this was the second bulletin of revisiting old days...

I will find more such juicy encounters and flood your mailboxes with it..
Hope you are loving it and enjoying the fun...!!!

Few Days to go at VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur

Its that time of the course which everyone wishes should come fast and when it is there in front of you, you wish the time to stand still... Yup, I along with 119 gems of VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur are going to graduate from this hallowed institution. On behalf of everybody, I have taken an initiative to remember the days gone by revisiting some of the old mails that we have received and believe you me they are absolutely hilarious.

Hi Batch

A very Good Morning to all of you. When I woke up this Sunday morning , I had a thought running in my head, about how to make the last 20 odd days more memorable. As a batch, we have suffered a lot, hostel changes, single to double occupancy, Recession, Placements, Seniors (:P) and now Juniors (:P), but we have always come out stronger. I believe, this is something that unconsciously we have achieved, a certain degree of mental strength which shall hold us in good stead in the future.

Before we get all sentimental and have tears in our eyes (again, that's wishful I guess :P), I thought why not have some good hearty laughs over some of the incidents that have happened in our VGSoM life.

Today onwards, I shall send in an old email everyday, which shall evoke laughter and make you wish that, the time could stop here and allow you to bask again in those glorious days gone by. The intention is not to deride anybody, but merely to revisit some of the funny moments that have happened over the course of two years.

So here comes the first one...Enjoy it till you can...!!!! ...

Background: The Academic Committee has come up with a novel way of storing the ppts and making it accessible for us..For many of us, it was a relief from downloading the individual ppts. We should thank AcadComm, but is it them who should get all the praise.... My mischeivious mind doesnt think so... I guess you should read further....!!!

AcadCom 2009 <acadcom09@yahoo.co.in> wrote:
Dear Batch
There have been so many files and docs circulated on mails so frequently, making it difficult to keep track of them. Now that the mid-sems are around, we understand that a lot of you will start looking for various material. If you have missed downloading any doc in the past, WORRY YOU NOT....!!!
Acadcom has set up for you, a TREASURE TROVE for academic material: it has in it all the material circulated in the past and will be the place where we shall upload all the circulation material in future. Here is how you get to the treasure trove:
Step 1: go to START ---> RUN ---> \\10.43.34.112
Step 2: User name : guest
Password: guest
Step 3: navigate to the folder
---> MBA
---> MBA batch 07-09
Now this folder has subject wise sub-folders, when you dig deeper the subject folders are further divided section-wise for those subjects that have different profs handling them for the two classes. Also you will see two other folders named "general" and "usefull e-books": the general folder will hold all the general files, docs, info (usually all the communication from the CRs) and the "useful e-books" as the name suggests will have e-books that could be of use to you, for example we have uploaded an "Exel bible" which has everythin from opening microsoft exel to using the most complicated function in exel. Also please do not try to tamper with any of the folders, you have only read access hence you will be able to download the material but, should you want to add or change anything, you are requested to get in touch with the concerned class manager.
We are sure you will find it very usefull and hopefully it puts an end to "running around" for files and docs and also gives the class managers some respite. We urge you to try opening the folder immediately and get back to us should you face any difficulty in doing so.
Thanks and Regards
Acadcom09
